Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US as well as Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She was hired by ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been since her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages has helped her get her first job with Univision, Miami. She could work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was recruited as a reporter by the CBS station as an sports reporter. In 2009, she moved from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporting on stories about trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of the border, she served as a reporter on the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English, and an anchor for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she would fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. She also hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1985, in Mexico City. She has an elder sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. After a short time, her father divorced from her mother and she later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away of kidney carcinoma in the year 2006. In June of 2006, she took a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta is a senior in high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the school. Then she was enthralled with the university. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. When she finished high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university and major with Media Studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the manager of WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a member. He inspired her to believe in herself and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her. She, in turn, strived to fulfill his standards and never failed him.
